My youngest daughters are there.. that magic age.. Six years old has been that age for me.. the one I wish I could freeze them in. Still little enough to curl up in your lap. Independent enough to clean their room and play pretend for hours. Eager to try new things and learn all there is to know about EVERYTHING. Reading by themselves but they still want me to read out loud to them… Silly with no real inhibitions
I will always remember them little like this..
The twins followed me into my studio the other morning as I was folding blankets and working on tidying up after a long stretch of sessions the place looked like a crazy prop shop had exploded…. they plopped down on the murphy bed and started doing what they do best.. singing songs, wresting around with each other being wild… luckily my camera was near by.
As I look at the images I love the most of my own daughters I know that with both my personal and professional work the goal is always the same.. preserving genuine smiles, sweet moments to treasure forever… messy hair, wearing their nightgowns or whatever.. let them be little, let them make silly faces and be real.. thats what we love to look back on.
Thats the stuff that makes your heart sing and brings you back to a place long after things change.
xoxox,
Sarah
