There are quotes about a wet knot being impossible to untie or how it’s “good luck” if it rains on your wedding day….. maybe some of it was that we just live in the pacific northwest at the end of June which can be a pretty wet time of year.
I think what I see on rainy wedding days is couples, friends and families learning how to be flexible, prepare for anything and weather the storm together.
That is exactly what I saw. In all of the years that I have known Betsy I have never seen her smile as big, her eyes so bright and her laugh so full of absolute joy!
We celebrated with wet hair and muddy boots snuggled up by the heaters, ate delicious food home made, much of it caught by the groom himself for the feast and the rest lovingly made by family and friends.
Each detail of the wedding carefully and lovingly prepared with personal touches and wonderful do it yourself favors and decorations. It was awesome to photograph it all after talking about the details with Betsy over the last year of planning for her wedding day.
Congratulations to Betsy and Rob for finding each other and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for you in the future…. wishing you enough love and laughter to last a lifetime and I hope I get to watch as you grow old together.
May your love grow more and more each year
