When I think back sometimes it’s kind of hard to remember what life was like for me before you were in it. In so many ways you and I have “grown up” together. I loved you before I met you, but the first time you looked up at me with those big beautiful brown eyes on 10.13.1999 at 7:15pm after a ridiculously long labor my heart just swelled with a love I had never known before. All my life I dreamed of having a little girl. Little did I know that you would be the first of four 😉
One of the first feelings I have when I think of you is pride. You are an exceptional human being. You are trustworthy and stand up for what is right. You have a contagious smile and an enormous capacity to care for others.
The effort you put into your school work, attention to detail and quality and the unwavering love you have for learning never ceases to impress me. You are a born leader and all three of your little sisters look up to you so much and in return you are patient and kind and such a wonderful example for them to have.
Iris I am forever grateful that I was blessed with such an amazing girl to call my own. I enjoy the time we spend together exploring new things learning new crafts, reading, watching movies and visiting new places together. While there are many moments I wish I could just freeze you the way you are right now and keep you a little girl forever I am looking forward to watching what wonders life has in store for you!
So Happy Birthday to my first born. The world is a much warmer place because of your glow
